About this blog

Clinical Opinions of an Orthopaedic Surgeon is the personal professional blog of Dr Vasyl Shlemko, an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon focused on fracture care, musculoskeletal infection, reconstructive trauma surgery, and practical postoperative rehabilitation.

I started this project in September 2016. At that time it was the first Ukrainian-language blog dedicated to orthopaedics and traumatology. Since then, it has grown into a clinical archive of real surgical thinking: trauma cases, radiology, operative planning, complications, infection control, rehabilitation, and decision-making in hospitals where resources are not always ideal.

This is not a polished hospital brochure. It is a surgeon’s working notebook — written from the operating theatre, the ward, the emergency department, and the follow-up clinic. The aim is simple: to explain orthopaedic trauma clearly, honestly, and practically.

Про цей блоґ

Clinical Opinions of an Orthopaedic Surgeon — особистий професійний блоґ д-ра Василя Шлемка, ортопеда-травматолога, зосереджений на лікуванні переломів, кістково-суглобовій інфекції, реконструктивній травматольоґії та практичній післяопераційній реабілітації.

Я почав цей проєкт у вересні 2016 року. На той час це був перший українськомовний блоґ, присвячений ортопедії та травматольоґії. Згодом він став клінічним архівом реального хірурґічного мислення: травматичні випадки, рентґеноґрами, операційне плянування, ускладнення, інфекційний контроль, реабілітація та прийняття рішень у лікарнях, де ресурси не завжди ідеальні.

Це не глянцева медична брошура. Це робочий нотатник хірурґа — з операційної, відділення, приймального покою та післяопераційного огляду. Мета проста: пояснювати ортопедичну травму ясно, чесно і практично.
